Our nursery is a charming, friendly and homely place with a long serving team of childcare practitioners and professionals. The depth of experience in our team reflects on how content and happy the children are.
Our ethos is very child lead, therefore emphasis is put on the children to ‘have a go’, building confidence and independence. Our team of key people ensures each child has a unique learning journey with us, focusing and extending familiar experiences and current interests and building learning opportunities around them.
Our long standing nursery team hold a wealth of experience and each bring a special something to the nursery! For example, Julie can whip up a glorious sensory tray whilst Katie displays the children’s handiwork beautifully! Rob is our Gardening Guru and Abi makes amazing small world scenes using natural resources she finds outside with the children. And of course, there is Hilary, our cook. All Hilary’s meals are made on site daily in our kitchen. Hilary’s meals are so popular we often have parents asking for a recipe….
Where you will find us
The Purbrook Day Nursery and Pre School is situated in the heart of Purbrook on London Road and nestled on the outskirts of Purbrook Heath. We are on a main bus route and a main line at Havant Station is only 10 minutes away.
Our Building
As former Victorian school house our nursery has a rich history of education. A listed building of interest, our nursery is full of character with high ceilings, beautiful timber eaves, leaded windows and solid wood floors. The nursery is set back from a main road and there is plenty of parking at the rear of the building with easy access straight into the nursery garden.
The Baby Snug
A room where babies can relax, sleep, crawl, and explore new sights and sounds to awaken the senses. Our Baby Snug is the perfect place for our youngest children to begin their nursery journey.
The Toddler Den
Located next door to their younger Baby cousins, our toddler den has space for exploration, play and new experiences. Creative play, colourful and textured resources, singing, stories, outdoor play, and nursery rhymes are how we learn every day
The Pre-School Study
Preparing for school and those next big steps in education is a big deal, so in our study we focus on activities that promote reading, writing, maths and science – ensuring children are learning as they play. All activities are carefully planned to cover all areas of learning.
To me, dropping my children to them is like leaving them with a family member.
